Web Log Storming for Windows

• Fails for last days on log files

  STGDecember 30, 2014

  Pros

When it works, it is pretty good. It is very easy to make bookmarks for very specific log analysis using parameters, and has very dynamic reports.

  Cons

Broken for "last days" on at least 2 different hosts (FreeBSD and Linux) for me. Works fine if you use the Read All option, but of course then it either becomes crippling slow or you have to move your files manually all the time. Contacted developer twice (for a previous version, still have the problem on latest), never got an answer (e-mail and contact form).

• Best log analyzer I've ever seen

  STGMarch 24, 2005

  Pros

It's pretty fast, and the dynamic nature of the log generation allows doing in second complex filter combinations. You can have multiple file sets in a single analysis, including sites with different log formats. The existing reports plus the filters should cover all you the information you'd want to extract from your log files.

  Cons

You can't just tell it to generate a report and save to a location - it's all dynamic.
