• EXTREMELY Buggy

  WHEN it works, great graphics & features

  crashes 90% of the time. When zooming in on area.. program crashes hard. My pc is 3.2ghz, 4 gigs ram, dual gforce 8600 vid cards.. so pretty sure it is not my pc.

  Summary

  Even if it worked correctly.. still not worth the $300+ yearly subscription. Many other stable & far cheaper programs out there. Until they fix some issues.. not worth the download

  Pros

  This weather program is extremely easy to use, even for novice users. The graphics are amazing and the program is totally customizable (street level maps, color customization and tons of extra layers). It's amazing!

  Summary

  Weather Defender is a breath of fresh air in the world of weather tracking software. Its user interface is extremely intuitive and takes very little time to learn. They have many easy to follow tutorials on their website to help newbies become acquainted with Weather Defender's features even more quickly. For weather enthusiasts, it makes tracking bad weather (whether it be winter weather or severe weather) a breeze. I love being able to create a map that shows me a temperature gradient plot with winds, pressures and fronts on it. I'll have a 2nd map open that shows just watches and warnings and finally a 3rd map open that has the radar on it. It's a breeze to have each of these open and to switch between them. The program already comes with several "pre-configured" maps so that you are up and running right away, but you can tweak those or create your own with very little effort. The data is always up-to-date and has allowed me to provide advanced warnings to friends and family when severe weather has approached on countless occasions. I can actually place markers where all my firiends' houses are and can warn them individually.....truly amazing!! For those that like to track storms or just meet other Weather Defender users, there's a chat feature built into the program that allows you to talk to others using the program anywhere in the country (or the world, I guess) in real time. I've met a lot of very interesting people just by chatting with other users. All in all, Weather Defender has fulfilled all my needs and more as a weather program. I highly recommend it to anyone.

  Pros

  The ability to layer weather maps of your choice over geographical maps of your choice, while being able to know your location in relation to both is the work of pure genious. The automatic updates are nice for when you're not paying attention.

  Cons

  Doesn't work on an iphone.

  Summary

  I've been familiar with beta versions of this software for a while, and the amount of information that is available at your fingertips is absolutely amazing. Any weather information for anywhere in the country over almost any geographical map you could want, yet it doesn't ever get overwhelming since you only choose the maps that you want. The best part though, is that you always know where weather events are in relation to you, so you will always know whether you are going to be affected or not.

  It has very nice graphic, and lots of cool features especially the email alert.

  I haven't found any yet.

  Summary

  It updates frequently and I love the graphic very much. Most importantly it is equipped with many important features that will surely help us to protect ourselves from life-threatening weather. I have tried out so many weather programs and this is the best by far. I will recommend this to my friends!
