Viscosity is an OpenVPN client for Mac, providing a rich Cocoa graphical user interface for creating, editing, and controlling VPN connections. Viscosity provides a complete OpenVPN solution for Leopard (Mac OS 10.5) and does not require any additional downloads or software. Viscosity allows connections to be completely configured through a GUI, without any need to know how to use the command-line or OpenVPN's configuration file syntax. Advanced users still have full manual control over configuration options if desired. As well as connection configuration, Viscosity also provides a global menu for quick connection/disconnection, as well as a details window containing connection information and traffic statistics.

Do not install version 1.4 yet, it is still in beta stage and is not working without some adjustments.

Works great with my OpenVPN server running as VM on Win7 Easy to install OpenVPN client config file & if needed, edit IP address of connection
Cons
not free, but works when I couldn't get the recommended free Mac OpenVPN client to do so

If you need to connect via OpenVPN and that is set up to use PKCS12 keys, you have three options: 1. Get plain the OpenVPN for Mac software and run it from the command line; 2. Get Tunnelblick; 3. Get Viscosity. The first option takes some work. I couldn't even find the Mac version on the OpenVPN site. The link takes you to a page that says you can download it, but it isn't there. Their suggestion is to use option 2. The second option takes some work. PKCS12 doesn't work with the latest release. The third option is easy. Download and install. Eventually you have to pay for it, but if $9 is too much for you, what are you doing with a Mac?

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Stable app. Speed is as quick as if not quicker than Apple's built-in VPN option (which has proven necessary for me running an enterprise server where both Windoze users and Macs are logging in, given that Windoze [XP] still cannot do VPN L2TP (or PPTP!) out of the box reliably -- can't speak for Vista). Price ($10 shareware, forthcoming) reasonable. GUI nice. Option for config. tweaks good. Overall a good product.
