Beta or prerelease software is not intended for inexperienced users, as the software may contain bugs or potentially damage your system. We strongly recommend that users exercise caution and save all mission-critical data before installing and/or using this software.
VPN connections are an essential part of many people's daily life and therefore they have to be integrated seamlessly into the existing network infrastructure. Shimo detects changes in your network configuration and reacts accordingly: It automatically initiates VPN connections or reconnects interrupted connections - you don't have to take care of anything - Shimo does.

I bought it just after an hour of getting Hamachi back up and going on my two workstations that were not able to work after things fell apart with the other Hamachi apps as well as lack of updates from LogMeIn. BRAVO!!!!
Doesn't handle Back To My Mac

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I had heard good things around the net,but......The product seems to claim to handle Back To My Mac status, but doesn't. I was first hoping that both services could remain active with my Cisco connection and the Cisco client. That failing, I turned my attention, and my dollars, to Shimo who claimed to "handle" the connection. So far there is no difference no matter how I set preferences, I am not trying to run both clients at once, and I have sent email to the closest thing to a support address I can find (there's nothing about support on their web site) with no response now for three days.
Color me disappointed for having spent $20 plus just to have the same # of clicks in my menubar as the Cisco client had in my dock. I'm very used to the Mac OS client and would truly love a one click solution to both of these issues in my menubar. Keep trying, and step up the response time. Convince me, I've paid for it!
Nice!

Keep the good stuff going! :-)
Excellent, +Works with Leopard!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've been using this since 1.0 came out, brilliant tool! I installed Leopard with some trepidation yesterday but I am happy to report that both CiscoVPN and Shimo worked without a hitch!
Shimo is a fantastic little tool that makes it extremely convenient to connect to VPN. From the feature set it seems vaguely useless, but it really becomes second nature to connect, whereas I always felt like I had to go out of my way to connect using the Cisco GUI.
Good stuff. If you're _thinking_ about downloading this, then you should.

Great app (now ;-) )! A good and simple MacOS X interface with Keychain support and no need to use the awful Cisco GUi.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
In the time it takes to download, you took the ugliest, least Mac-friendly application on my MacBook and made it one of the unobtrusive and easiest to use. This app does for VPN what Synergy did for iTunes or LaunchBar for the Finder.
