Editors’ Review
They don't interfere with the functionality, but we didn't like the ads that take up half of this free password generator's interface. You'll also have to put in some effort to produce results.
ViPNet Password Roulette offers a tabbed interface that's simple enough for any user to understand. We were, however, turned off by the ads. The first tab simply generates passwords. The second tab lets you pick the password type (phrase or numeric), as well as the password language, and the number of words and letters in each. On our first run, we opted to generate 10 passwords derived from a phrase. We were then prompted to randomly type keys from which the program generates passwords, and we found that the faster you type, the faster the program produces results. A list of 10 random passwords quickly appeared with their accompanying phrase. We were able to save the list to a location of our choice. On our second run, we chose to generate six passwords with six characters each. As soon as we hit the generate passwords button, six numeric passwords appeared.
ViPNet Password Roulette works well, but there are other freeware options that don't subject you to advertising.
