This app decodes heavy and medium duty truck Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) for most 1991+ truck manufacturers for the purpose of determining the year, chassis manufacturer, engine manufacturer, ECU family and validity. It will then list what software tool is needed to download the engines Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and if calibration and/or incident data is available. If incident data is available, it will give a brief description of the data. Major known issues are also shown in the notes section. Determines: Year Chassis Manufacturer Engine Manufacturer Check Digit Validity Software Tool(s) Required to Access Calibration and Incident Data If Calibration Data is Available If Incident Data is Available and a Brief DescriptionThe form can then be emailed. The default address is support@vearexperts.com, but this can be changed to whatever the end user desires.This app does not require an internet connection.It is intended for accident reconstructionists, insurance adjusters, safety managers, and attorneys.
