Video Tube Free for YouTube is exactly as it sounds: a free app for browsing, sharing, and interacting with content on YouTube. While YouTube has since released an official app that offers most of the same features in a very similar interface, there are still a few reasons to recommend Video Tube, even if you also use the YouTube app or the YouTube mobile site.
Video Tube works right out of the box without the need for logging in or registration. In fact, Video Tube has no options to log in in its free version, instead allowing you to save Favorites or share videos directly from the app using Facebook, Twitter, or Mail. The Favorites are saved to a separate menu and if you want to comment on a video or like/dislike it, you'll need to visit YouTube in a browser or use the official app. So, this is not for people who use YouTube actively, uploading or commenting a lot. It is, however, a very fast browser with a number of intuitive search interfaces and a very useful history tool.
Video Tube loads quickly, streams the videos from YouTube without any issues, and best of all allows you to choose the speed and network over which to stream. So, if your connection is slow, you can change your streaming speed to HD720, medium or small, or change from 3G or 4G to Wi-Fi. The lack of social features will be frustrating for some, but because the app is free and because there is a full-featured official YouTube app, we feel confident recommending Video Tube for anyone interested in a viewing-only app through which you can save and share your favorite videos.
