USA Volleyball Desktop Communicator for Windows

Fans of USA volleyball will love the idea of staying up-to-date on their sport, but this free tool's unappealing interface and poor performance will have even the most die-hard lovers of the game booing from their seats.

USA Volleyball Desktop Communicator resides on your desktop. Right away, we were turned off by the hard-to-read user interface. The numbers and typeface are very small. You can expand the window and drag it anywhere on your desktop, but there are no customization features to help with the small type. You can access it from your system tray, but a hot-key combo would have been a convenient option to make the application appear and disappear from view. Other than the News link, we couldn't access any of the other menu links (Membership, Events, Merchandise), but even this one functioning feature wasn't impressive. You'd think that double-clicking a news item would bring up the source Web page, or at least a more detailed explanation, but that wasn't the case.

Sadly, the only feature we liked has nothing to do with this application's purpose. The weather forecast, when selected, displays a very in-depth weather report for your location of choice. Unfortunately, it's not enough to save this program or give us a reason to recommend it.
