The publisher's description for Unit Converter describes the program as a "free unit converter made with an engineer in mind." That may be, but potential users who aren't engineers shouldn't be put off. Although Unit Converter handles measurements like enthalpy and thermal conductivity, it's also a quick and easy way to convert all kinds of everyday measurements.

The program has a unique interface, with 19 different categories of measurement in a list down the left side. Clicking on a category lets users select the original unit of measurement and the unit that they want to convert to. Users then simply enter the value in a box at the top, and Unit Converter displays the conversion factor and the result. Though Unit Converter is capable of converting psi to mmHg and lb/fth to Pas, making it suitable for scientific users, it also covers more commonly used measurements like temperature, volume (handy in the kitchen), weight, and area. The program is pretty basic in its features, but it does allow users to choose custom colors for the interface and to specifiy the font size. There's no Help file, but the program is pretty self-explanatory, as long as you're using units that you're already familiar with. Overall, Unit Converter isn't a fancy program, but it is very useful for scientists, students, and just about everybody else.

Summary
You cannot enter a negative temperature. For example converting -40 Fahrenheit to Celsius should give -40 C. Although the formula appears OK, the calculator does not let you enter a negative sign.
Simple, Easy, Does All the major Units of Anything!

Pros
Not much to complain about. Maybe a more polished GUI apart from that, it's simple, and just works, even the Yanks and Brits are covered (Gallons, Oz).
Cons
As I said, just a bit of colour in the GUI, else it's fine. Not been able to fault it as a couple of others, get the 5 odd Ounces wrong. This just has the the right values.
Summary
Not much to say, it's one of those apps, that they are just there like the MS Calc, it works for what you need, doesn't try to be a do more than what it set out to do, and it does it well. I would Like to be able to change some font sizes, else it's fine.
Does exactly what I wanted, easily and quickly.

convert nearly any measurement of any parameter of energy from density to thermoconductivy to volume. easy to use, can customize the color scheme as well. great job.

Convert between measure units.

Free unit converter made with an engineer in mind. The user interface uses mouse positioning to select the units to convert, but clicking will lock in the selection if desired. The user can adjust the order of the properties by dragging, the foreground and background colors, the font size and the unit separator for the more complex units. There are conversion factors for Area, Density, Energy, Enthalpy, Flow, Force, Heat Capacity, Heat Transfer Coefficient, Length, Power, Pressure, Surface Tension, Temperature, Thermal Conductivity, Time, Velocity, Viscosity, Volume, Weight and it even allows for mole to mass and mass to mole conversions where appropriate.
