Ultima VIII: Gold Edition throws you into the grim world of Pagan. You'll face moral dilemmas and tough fights against cruel Titans. It's a different Ultima.

  • Pros

    • Detailed world with characters living out their routines | Speech pack adds depth through voiced dialogues | Fluid combat and platforming make it more engaging | Skill-based training encourages personal growth

  • Cons

    • Emphasis on action may alienate RPG purists | Story can be morally challenging (or just depressing) | Demands a certain tolerance for '90s game design
