Before I could use it, my machine just hangs during startup.

Summary
I installed this screensaver on my iMac. The download went alright, but when I tried to open the application it asked that I put it into the Control Panel. I did as instructed, but after restarting my iMac.....which I have to troubleshoot several times by the way.........my internal modem was gone. Not after I trashed the application from my control panel, I could manage to reconnect to the Internet.
