• It wasted my time and money

  Pros

  Might be OK for simple projects that doesn't require micro-scheduling. Once I found out that smallest task duration unit was 1 day, I didn't go any further.

  Cons

  1.Cannot perform microscheduling. eg; 24hour/7 day a week operations where tasks are planned to the nearest hour. That would exclude this program for any sort of complex industrial plant maintenance/shutdown planning. 2. Sent 2 emails to the enquiry address on the vendor's website. No replies received.

  Summary

  I wasted my money. The only advice I will give is to download the trial software and FULLY evaluate it before purchasing. (I didn't!!) I still can't get over the fact that 1 day is the highest resolution time unit available.

  I bought this software at a "discount" price after the trial period expired... I wish I had actually trialled it properly before stumping up the cash. Setting aside the mere annoyances, this software has cost me time and sanity as it: - seemingly randomly changes the order of tasks when cutting and pasting - clicking undo undid about 10 actions, clicking redo returned about half of those (or maybe it just shifted stuff around, it was hard to tell) - dialogue boxes keep hovering even while trying to escape them - task start/finish constraints are sometimes automatically added when a linkage is removed... actually finding how to clear these constraints is even more fun - the gantt chart outcome seems to differ depending on which order you specify things, eg. task duration *then* dependencies gives a different result to doing it the other way around. do yourself a favour and avoid this software at all cost.

  I found the gantt chart far easier to create than using microsoft project.

  I would like better integration with ms-office

  Easy to use. Not sure what the 'rocket science' guy was harping about. It's easy to lists tasks, make an outline, and add resources.

• Finally a cost-effective alternative to ms-project

  Pros

  Price. And it gets the job done. We can build our schedules quickly and easily, assign resources, level resources, track progress, create progress reports, etc, etc. It even performs earned value calculations. A solid solution.
