  Summary

  The folks at YouTube have been putting a big effort into securing their site. They have blocked most of the websites that were giving people the ability to download videos from YouTube. They have also blocked TubeTV downloads. The irony of it is the fact that many of the videos on YouTube are taken from other sources. But YouTube doesn't want anyone taking videos from them.

  None, its a waste of a product.

  Went straight to youtube to try and download any video, received error message every time. I'm not sure if that was what was intended, but in the description it says that it easily downloads videos from sites like Youtube, so what gives?

  Summary

  Its becoming more and more difficult to find a working FLV downloader for safari when there are plenty of them that work really well on firefox, i guess i'll just use firefox.

  Pros

  There are a million youtube video downloaders but this one even does obscure sites. I found a video on a site I've never heard of and it still worked. Super simple AND it converts it to an ipod compatible file.

  Cons

  I would just be nit picking so none. Oh, side note. You have to download perian. I've been using perian for a while anyway so that wasn't a big deal. I would have downloaded perian anyway.

  Summary

  Free flv download utility that downloads and converts from even obscure sites, not just youtube. Leaving you with a quicktime compatible file. It's great.

  Pros

  Converts from flash to ipod quite well--the files I've created with this program have never been unplayable.

  Cons

  Conversion process is painfully slow, and heats up my computer more than any other program I've used.

  1. converted YouTube .flv files for my iPhone 3G m4v (mpeg-4) 2. easy to use a. downloads and converts for you (can also import to iTunes for you) b. many choices... just choice Apple TV, iPhone, iPod, etc.

  It would be nice if it had more converting options, than just iphone, ipod, apple tv... Maybe a PS3 transfer would be nice, of if you can set the dimensions and output quality manually!

  Pros

  Excellent app. But don't get this version - download.com are way behind. Get version 1.0 (or above) from the author's site. It fixes bugs and makes it easier to use. I've tried a few other apps, including non-free ones, and I think TubeTV is the best way of downloading YouTube videos on the Mac.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I've been using TubeTV for a long time now and I (lazily, just now) donated! I collect a lot of software tutorial videos for reference purposes at university and TubeTV helps me keep them on CD or HD so I can access them whenever and where I choose without having to connect to the net and have the darn things reload. Having to realtime watch a feed is annoying especially if one is only interested in a certain section say in the middle! Fabulous work by the Chimoosoft team. Many thanks from an EndUser who doesn't want to learn programming. May I also say that it's great to see a donation option instead of the usual limited use! Daring, but honest! 10/10.
