Mermaids flip their tails and divers cruise past a sun-spackled reef in the light-hearted Tropical Aquarium Screensaver. The graphics are a tad hokey, but you can fine-tune every aspect of the show: the centerpiece, the background image, the species of marine life (such as sea horses, sharks, and a tiny killer whale), and a variety of miscellaneous goodies, including a Mafia snitch on his way to sleeping with the fishes. A preview pane on the well-designed control panel shows what each item looks like. Six MIDI background-music selections, including Jimmy Buffet's "Margaritaville," round out the entertainment options. Our one major complaint is the screensaver's refusal to return to the desktop when you press a key; you need to click the mouse. Otherwise, Tropical Aquarium Screensaver is almost as fun as the Disneyland submarine ride, and a lot cheaper.

Pros
If you're not too concerned with good graphics, this one is okay.
Cons
I have to agree that this one is not worth the money, and I dont understand why this is rated so highly by CNET. It looks pretty hokey. WHY is it so popular??? Perhaps it's an old review???
Summary
Not a good screensaver

This screensaver looks like it was developed for the commodore 64. There are MANY much better aquarium screensavers out there. Recommended ones are Dream Aquarium 1.0 and Marine Aquarium 2.

Summary
It wouldn't run on my computer (run XP Home) I could set it up, and I got the message that I could only use it 30 more times and all, but the Saver it self just froze up my system, so I can't tell you whether it's good or bad...
OK, but not worth the money...

The program is nice, good music, and lost of thing to customize. The only problem is the unload time. It take forever to get off the screensaver, so beware!
Fish were very unrealistic, hard edges.
