TreeProjects lets you create personal searchable, hierarchical databases which can hold information items of different types. Notes of plain or formatted text, file attachments, web-pages, and email messages can be organized in a tree-like structure, marked by tags and searched instantly. Easily view and edit your information using tabs which can be flexibly arranged on the screen. Reminder items will keep you synchronized with your plans, and reference items will help if an item belongs to more than one branch. All information is stored in a single, compact file. And new datatypes or operations can be added by installing plugins.

Lightweight, fast and dependable

Pros
On my Windows 7 machine it opens right away with no snags. I'm able to take notes in rich text or plain text and can import images and many different document types. Everything is stored in a flexible tree structure.

Summary
TreeProjects is perfect for those times when you want a lightweight information manager with good, solid functions. Notes can be as plain as a notepad or as formatted as you would like. It has all the features I will ever use and maybe a few more. A nice search function, tagging, icon assignment (with my own icons, if I like), even reminders. You build your information in branches and can have as many as you need. If one item belongs in two separate branches it can be "referenced" in each without adding it multiple times. Web pages can be imported as note "items" so you never forget where that information came from. It will import email .eml files and Outlook email files too...with attachments. As long as the supporting software is installed TreeProjects can, most of the time, import it. I've never had a problem. You can make a database as complex as it needs to be with links and references...or as simple. You can make multiple databases. Each database is stored in one proprietary file BUT, if you need to get info out, it can be exported to your hard drive with the file structure intact!!! So, folders in your tree will become folders on your drive with your notes and files inside! With the XL version, item labels can have different colors and formatting, I have tab splitting and docking, can make templates, have password protection and a lot more, Plus, I can also MAKE a portable version to put on a flash drive and take with me to use on different computers.
