TorrentBar for Windows

This free Firefox extension quickly finds torrents, but it's missing a lot of helpful features commonly found on other toolbars.

TorrentBar would be better served as a single button instead of as a typical toolbar add-on. It includes a drop-down menu with options for browsing an interesting mix of English and Polish P2P news sites. A Help menu is also included in the drop-down list. A long list of present torrent sites can be found under the Search button. We typed in a keyword in the search field, chose a site from the list, and the program quickly pulled up the corresponding torrent site with related torrent links. Still, there's a lot of wasted space on the toolbar that would be perfect for such standard toolbar features as a pop-up blocker, an e-mail notifier, or a weather forecast.

It would have been nice if you could place the toolbar in a more inconspicuous location so as to not take up as much space. As a toolbar, more customizable additions would have made it more functional. Even so, TorrentBar works if you're looking for a simple torrent search tool.
