Summary
This downloads an old version that is not Sierra compatible, and directs you to select upgrade, which takes you to a payment page for the current one. It's only $5, but the sneaky, dishonest marketing is a deal killer.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br /><p>I love the console (and have also hacked one of my Macs to display the syslog on my desktop) but for many of my clients, the console and backupd logs are a mystery best avoided. This app makes it easy to see why TM bailed on a backup without having to filter on backupd entries in the console. <p>This app is mostly harmless. <p>I do have some cautions on changing the TM interval though. Generally hourly backups are painless. The system keeps track of what needs to be backed up via filesystem events and the standard period of backup events is a good compromise to keep each backup load fairly light. <p>Extending this period has the downside of <ul><li>making the backup load higher</li><li>reducing the ability to get back a file that you changed only a few hours earlier</li><li>increasing the likelihood of the dreaded <i>Time Machine requires deep traversal</i> when the FSevents are corrupted or out of sync with the last backup.</li></ul>

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />...but atrocious implementation and distribution, from the read/write disk image, to the needless, improperly-built installer packages, to the non-relocatable application, to the needless, nonstandard, cleartext password entry field (there are many better ways to query the ASL database), to the interface that looks like an escapee from System 7. It's a good thing the "Donate" button image doesn't even draw on my machine, because there's no way I'd pay any money for this. To the developer: please learn about Mac OS X.

Would you like to find out exactly what caused the error so you can do something about it? Run TM Error Logger after you get the Time Machine error and you will get a report showing which file or folder caused the error. Click on "Open Problem Folder" to reveal the folder containing the problem.
