• Simple! And useful for logging your daily tasks

  Pros

  The beauty of this simple tool is in its daily use -- it is extremely easy to create new projects, tasks, and the like. And once you've spent the 5-seconds it takes to create a project and a set of basic tasks, they stay easily visible in the list on the left pane, so forever after you can click a task, click start, and just work. I also like how all the fields are always editable -- (if you forget to stop a task, just go back and change the stop time, easy-peasey). The thing I love about this tool is that I can easily throw on a project or task called say, "tools" or "support" to a project, so as problems come up I can record the # of minutes per day that I spend on things OUTSIDE my job description. This is key for providing actual minute-to-minute records to give Mgmt as proof of resourcing, tools issues, etc.

  Cons

  This tool needs to be renamed -- there are 100 variations of timetracker, Time Tracker, TimeTracker, time-tracker) on the Internet, and even here on C-Net. On top of that, the silly CNet "TechTracker" tool pops up... come on, how about a new name! I recommend this tool to family and friends and they invariably can never find this particular tool.   Pros

  Simple, nice user interface, nice report (copies and pastes into Excel nicely) including date, start & stop time, duration, project, & task. Nice tray display.

  Cons

  Structure of projects & tasks is too limited - its just a flat list (no nesting, no tree structure). <p>The window used to select the active task from the list of tasks is too small.
