Time 'n Bill is a time and billing system for small firms. It will produce a wide variety of reports, including income-expense statements, balance sheets and aged receivables reports. The user has wide latitude in designing billing formats that use any font and place transaction data wherever desired. Very useful in any business that bills for services performed. May be used on a single computer, local area network, or even over the Internet.

Version 6 runs under Windows Vista, as well as earlier versions of Windows.

Pros
Cheap. Nice start. But software is not done.
Cons
The program simply doesn't work. If you pause the timer, and resume work later, the timer will automatically add all of the time when you weren't working on the project to the total time. In other works, the pause feature doesn't work on the timer. Second, the program will not minimize if the timer is running. This makes if difficult to access other programs that are not already open, when the timer is running.
Summary
Don't bother. It just doesn't work.

Pros
Time 'n Bill was easy to install on our 3-user network. Learning the basics took very little time, but entering all our old cases (the program calls them "projects") into the software took my secretary quite a while (note that there's a "Date Opened" field on each project's screen, and you have to make sure that you set it to a date BEFORE the date of the first service or disbursement that you plan to input for that project!). After entering actual services for each project, we tried some bills. We found that we needed to modify the billing format (to reflect our return address), and that required an efforT comparable to creating a form letter in a word processor (not hard, but you gotta be careful). But once we got the billing format set up, it's been smooth sailing ever since. This is a solid, dependable product whose day to day use is as easy as can be. And its calendar interface is wonderfully useful and intuitive.
