Tigrigna or Tigrinya is the official language of Eritrea and is also spoken in the northern parts of Ethiopia. It is a semitic language and is written with a unique Geez alphabet used only in Eritrea and Ethiopia. In this app you can see the names of the common foods, drinks, fruits and vegetables spelled and pronounced in Tigrigna. The words are written in English first and also in Tigrigna using the latin alphabet as well as the Geez alphabet for those that can read it and a picture is seen that shows what one is looking at. There are about 80 names of foods and drinks named. When you enter the page you hear a sound that tells you what you are looking at, you can also click on the sound icon to hear the sound again.
