Task Counter is a simple tool that counts your work time spent on particular tasks. Thanks of that you can control your efficiency and motivate yourself. While you are working, the Task Counter is counting time. When you are playing or you are gone from your PC, Task Counter is still counting and classifies it accordingly. Task Counter also shows charts including daily times and ratios. Built-in statistics allow us to assess such effectiveness with which you worked in a given day, how long you have been working this day, how many times you have been starting the work on a specific task, etc. It is a very useful tool for freelancers, who often measure their projects based on time spent on the engagement.
1) Easy to create multiple projects, group them by category, switch between them, and edit after the fact.
2) Can be hidden easily
3) comes with its own statistics package with graphical display.
Cons
1) No export feature. I wish I could transfer the data into excel/access for tracking/billing purposes.
2) If you go idle for a set amount of time (adjustable in options) it pauses the clock.
Summary
The lack of export feature is kind of a downer. It may be available through add-ons elsewhere, but the version d/l'd here doesn't have it.
While it tracks idle time to some degree, a good bit of my time is spent away from the office, and i'd like to make sure that information is well kept.
Overall it's a nice little project timer that's easy to use and setup.
