Taggtool Desktop Edition (32-Bit) introduces a new way to manage your files and documents. With Taggtool you assign short memorable keywords called 'tags' to your files. Whenever you need to find a file, simply enter some tags and your files will be displayed in seconds. It can add tags, descriptions and ratings to ANY files or folders on your pc or network automatically import embedded metadata in files such as MS Office, PDF's, JPG's, and MP3's, and preview the contents of common files such as images, PDF's, and Audio files.

Powerful utility for tagging files and folders

Pros
Interface is easy, clean and very attractive. Its substance and power is far beyond what you expect in a program at this price. This is not a skimpy, awkward program. Good design is seen in every detail. Works on Win 7 64 as if it was made for it.
Cons
Default setting is dark background/white font & small fonts. Changing both to my preference of white background with black letters and a larger font size was easy, but it took a computer restart to apply. I was annoyed at having to restart.
Summary
If you make your living working with files and you want a quicker and better way to find a particular file or folder and Windows search features and other programs are inadequate for particular situations, you should check out this program. I use a comprehensive file-naming structure, and desktop shortcuts to files and folders organized by a third-party program, and Windows 7's search features, but when I found Taggtool I knew I had just added a great new file utility for working more efficiently.

Pros
Very nice interface, simple to use, very fast; search results do not update properly when files are deleted.
Cons
would be nice to be able to do more windows explorer functions (it has copy) such as moving and deleting files.

It has a lot of potential. I hope the developer keeps up the good work.

Pros
Once tagged files can be searched instantly. Star ratings and description of files can also be added. You can have more tags databases (e.g. personal, business etc); it can be used as a portable tool to organize files on a flash drive. Inexpensive
Cons
Really nothing obvious.
Summary
Very fast and intuitive - just assign tags to your files to easily find them later. You must have it if you work with a large number of documents.

Its really a nice software program, and since i have installed i never uninstalled it once, but I still use WinAMP's Auto-Tagger, which is powered by GraceNote, and REALLY SERIOUSLY EASY TO USE, all u have to do is pushing one button.

Pros
A great idea, tags for the desktop. Acceptably fast.
Cons
Very cumbersome to rename and add/delete tags. Slows to a crawl when tagging large numbers of items such as a saved webpage and doesn't tell you what it's doing. So close to a great program.
