• Great idea - doesn't work and site is unhelpful

  Great idea for learning guitar bass and keyboards.

  Cons

  No instructional video or even basic how-to on using the program. No direct email for support. Forum is closed unless you buy the product. I tried to take this program for a test-ride and it wouldn't even start. Glad I didn't spend any money to find out all the flaws in this set up. Wasted a good hour or two on just trying to play one song. - FAIL

  Pros

  It is a great program because besides visually seeing the finger placements on the strings and frets, it also has the 'real time tab', the 'play log', 'guitar tuner' and 'tempo' which allows you to slow down a song when you have problems keeping up with fast changes. The guys who operate the site, are great - always willing to help us as customers whenever problems arise. The site and program are very user friendly. Also, this program is not just for beginners - it is suited to all ability levels. Good for bass and for guitar players. This is the best investment I ever made when it comes to music.

  Pros

  This is a great program for beginner and long time musicians alike. You can cut the learning curve way down and learn complete songs in a much shorter time. There are literally thousands of songs that you can choose from the database and more are being added all the time.

  Pros

  Easy install, large library of songs, neat effect of changing sounds. Love the looping and tempo controls. Interface is easy to understand and not cluttered.

  Cons

  A version for the iPad would be nice

  As mentioned in the previous review this software is only made for Windows. What is funny, the makers of the software clearly state that it is for Windows only and the reviewer complained about it. For me, it is probably the best $30 I have ever spent on software for guitar. Everything is as it should be and I think the creators deserve a lot of credit for their hard work. Also, you have to have a small amount of intuition and knowledge before jumping right into this program. It is obviously digital so things like bends will not convey, but if you use your common sense it cuts your learning curve of songs greatly.

  Pros

  Easy to use and for the most part very helpful tool. Works great on windows. It does what it does very well.

  Cons

  It doesn't work native with OSX or Linux systems. While it is very simple to create very good quality AIFF files that should be very accurate, it is a pain to switch operating systems to do so. As smart as the program is, it still can only put out what goes in. Some of the fingering positions seemed odd to me.

  Summary

  It's a pretty cool tool, but it's not the end all be all.

  Pros

  I came across this program on youtube, Then I went to TRS website, and i am glad i Did ! , This is the best $30.00 I ever spent, as i pay for my childrens guitar lessons @ $100 a month each, TRS will teach you forever for one small fee. AS i got into the program I clicked on songs that over the years i had interest in learning but never did, but after a simple click i found out that, those songs were not that difficult at all, with a little direction from TRS. I really like the drop down tab box and the speed control is great to learn at your own speed. After i had TRS for a couple of days i got another license for my son (age 10) on his laptop..............WOW, he is playing Randy Rhoads, Stevie Ray Vauhan and many other awesome lead parts that blow me away !Thanks TRS , you guys are very helpful to anyone that wants to learn. Keep on Rockin !

  Amazing software. Shows you exactly how to play the song, note for note on a large image. Love the looping feature and velocity control as well

  Can't think of any.

  Summary

  Cannot believe they sell this program for only $30. A couple guitar lessons would be more and I still wouldn't have learned the songs I wanted.
