SwordBible offers users a no-frills digital Bible with an automated daily devotional. What this program lacks in flare, it makes up for in fantastic features.

The program is fairly complex, though not impossible to master. Its confusing icons will take some time to learn because of the cluttered interface. Another headache is that each Bible section in the menu is abbreviated, so users must know that Exod is short for Exodus and so on. Fortunately, the program's Help file is excellent and simple to manage. Once the navigational kinks are worked out, SwordBible reveals itself to be an excellent tool for studying the Bible. To start with, users choose between the King James Bible or the World English Bible. Each is simple to scroll through and contains the entire text. A Biblical verse and a devotional appear daily in a pop-up screen. Users can cycle through a calendar to preview upcoming entries or review past ones. The program is ripe with special features that help users enjoy their readings more. One neat feature allows users to compare passages from both Bible versions side by side. Another allows users to add and remove various annotations with a simple command button. In addition, users can search the entire Bible for a verse or phrase just like an online search engine.

While its interface is initially troubling, this freeware program's benefits quickly erase any problems. With great features and two easy-to-manage Bibles, this is a great download for religious readers.

I like all of the resources that are available. So many different bibles and books and commentaries and things that you can download and expand it. I really love the daily devotional and the reading the bible in a year module that was added.

It has some bugs that cause the program to freeze up when you try to open and start it and also the daily read the bible in a year freezes up as well..
Summary
Over all great program but they do need to fix the bugs that make the program freeze up and not start correctly. When you click on the icon to start it freezes at the Swordbible logo. You have to click on the Swordbible logo and move it to the side, then click on the ok tab for the error msg that is behind the logo and then the program will open up; also happens when you click on the daily bible reading tab on the daily devotional window.

This is an excellent software!The additional texts that are available are worth the time to install,and learn to use this program!
