  While it opens the example file well, and does open a different XML as a spreadsheet...

  Cons

  ... the result with my file was one row high, 3 cells wide, and therefore remarkably incomplete and therefore worthless.

  Summary

  Seems the programmer had the idea right, but didn't follow through to make it general for other tags than < book > for instance. If it is open source (and I don't know if it is) it could help someone who knows how to use the code as a starting point, or a suggestion, to create a similar program. Other than that, I doubt anyone will find it useful as it currently exists.

  I could not code this, and I am glad that this tool can convert the test file it came with. However, when any other XML file is introduced, the tool locks up. Waste of time.

  I wish I had something for this box.

  Cons

  I downloaded, unzipped, and opened the program. Instantly a box pops up and says the trial period has ended. That's it. I guess I'll have to keep looking for a prog that will open xls without making Senor Gates any richer.
