This self-help application flashes messages and sounds or runs a slide show but it's awkward to set up and use. Unless you view the poorly designed interface at full screen you can't see all the options and you can't scroll through the window. Sublime Elite Edition 2000 comes with predefined messages for areas such as Poor Health and Smoking, or you can add your own set of messages. You can choose the interval between messages and set the duration from subliminal (flash) up to 60 seconds. In testing, messages occasionally interfered with other open programs and prevented us from working in them momentarily, and the slide show displayed on top even when this setting wasn't chosen, preventing access to other applications. You're allowed a 21-day trial. Regardless of a user's skill level, problems with this program prevent it from serving as a useful motivational tool for anyone.

This program works well with gphotoshow to condition my girlfriend's mind for my nefarious purposes. I don't use it for subliminals, but rather for my gf to read while perverted images flash in the background. I've never had any trouble with the program. It could use some improvement though, particularly b/c it lacks cut/paste. I can't tell you how much this drives me nuts. It means having to type and retype if you want to mix/match files. Other than that, I'm a fan.

I am a computer programmer with 7 years experience. I did not listen to the other peoples warnings about installing this program. This program does mess up your computer. I found that other programs had problems immediately after installing this program and rebooting EVEN though I chose NOT to overwrite any of my files. My PC is a mess and System Restore did not fix the problem. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS I DID. RATHER WAIT FOR A NEW MORE STABLE VERSION OR DOWNLOAD SOMETHING ELSE.

I just wanted to put in my two cents. First of all I DO NOT work for the developer. 1. I run windows XP on a 900mhz system w/a 256 mb ram. This software installed and ran fine. I don't know what everyone else is talking about regarding overwriting there files and messing up there system. 2. About the comments made regarding "Subliminal Messages don't work. Look at Skeptics.com." Well that may be true, however, if you slow down the speed of the messages to 1.5 seconds, (a speed that you can actually read the message very briefly) and the interval to 13 to 20 seconds. I am confident it will work, assuming your messages are properly written as well. How is that? Just look at advertisement. They try to do the same thing, bombard you with the same message over and over until you bellieve it. And advertisement works, otherwise companies wouldn't shell out millions of dollars to advertise there products. Also I remember a saying in which it went something like this, "The truth doesn't matter, what matters is the frequency of the message." In other words, the more you get bombarded with a message, the more you will believe it irregardless of whether it is true or not. I'm not talking about a subliminal message, just one in which you can actually briefly see it, or hear it. (And one that is obviously true to you as well). Now assuming you have one message every 15 sec. That is 240 messages per hour. Assuming you're on your computer for 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. That's 1,200 messages a day, 6,000 messages a week, 24,000 messages a month! Now again, these are NOT subliminal messages. I'm talking about messages you can actually read briefly for 1.5 seconds. Now, tell me THAT won't work, and I'll tell you that you don't know what you're talking about!

I thought the whole point of having a subliminal message was so that you DON'T hear it. I recorded my own message and converted it into subliminal. When i played it back the message was audible and just as clear as the original. In order for me to say this program works, I would have to see REAL proof. Utill then, keep looking.

As I've said of other subliminal products, they don't work. There is only one study that suggests that they could work and it has never been replicated. In fact, it was probably a hoax. Hundreds of studies have been done and not one has produced any evidence that our mind picks up subliminal messages, much less acts upon them! Even if they did, most people don't know how to phrase ideas in a way the subconscious can understand (read anything on neuro-linguistic programming). Go to Skeptic.com or search around on the net before wasting your time with this program or others like it. Note that there are ways to program the, this just isn't one of them.

I was involved in software development from 1982 (probably before many of the comment writers here were born) until 2001. Many of the complaints I have read here about installation etc. are Microsoft Windows issues and occur with ANY program because they are SUPPOSED to! They don't even have anything to do with Sublime or any other program they pop up in. The Windows messages about overwriting files are there for your protection. Files cannot be overwritten unless you give the go ahead and even then it will not hurt your computer anyway. You will just have a different version of a file that can be replaced at any time anyway. The real problem developers have is inexperienced users. Oh I know many of you think you are very good on the computer, but working on a computer and developing software are completely different issues that you really know nothing about. I hate to be so forward but it is true. When you are in the software business you can't tell people that they don't know what they are talking about, especially when they really believe they are right. Thank God I don't have to deal with them anymore. The types of 'bad' comments I run across at download.com are the same as I used to have to listen to all the time. So whether you want to believe it or not, if a developer tells you that something is impossible, it is. I have written and looked over dozens of installation programs and they DO NOT do what people are saying here. If something happens to your system when installing a program then your system already had a problem you didn't know about. Once last thing. Don't think for a moment that the competitors of software products don't write in with bad comments because they do. They prey on the minds of people that don't know much about computers, hoping that they will take their word for things. Am I saying that all 'bad' comments are from the competition. No, but in my experience it goes something like this: 60% of bad comments are from the competition and usually just one or two competitors. Not everyone stoops to that level. 20% will be from people that just didn't like the product and another 20% will be from people that just don't understand what is going on. That's as nice as I can put it. As for Sublime, it has it's faults but overall it is a very good program and does what it is supposed to do, and oh yes, my system is fine. :) I hope some of you will listen to what I have said, and it is meant for all software products, not just Sublime. I could write a book on the crazy things people have written me about over the years. In one way, it wasn't their fault, they just didn't know any better, but when they rant on and on having no idea that they are way off the mark, it does get annoying at times. My suggestion is to write the developer of a product if you have questions. The reputable ones will answer your questions as best they can. Also, ask yourself this question, if a program really was ruining people's systems, how on earth could that developer stay in business? He or she couldn't. Many of the things written here really are impossible on a normal system. And yes, I do know what I am talking about, and no, I have nothing to do with Sublime. Honest people will know I am writing the truth. The 'others' already have suspicious minds that no one can change. Too bad.

It tried to overwrite my system files just like all you great people have TRUTHFULLY claimed. Whel i hit alt+f4 when it asked me that just to be safe. so I didnt acutually install it. Oh and you can tell your "professional install file writers" to just put the files in a .zip file so it dont mess up our systems! There are so many advantages to a .zip file. Okay, so I was feeling pretty positive that day and decided to take the developer at his word. Well Mr. Williams, I can guarantee you that I have never been a developer nor will I ever be, and thus there are no jealousy issues involved here. I can also guarantee you that you have no idea what you are talking about when you say that it is immpossible for a progam to destroy your system. I personally watched this program want to substitute some of the OS DLL files on the system I was installing to. Although I went ahead and installed the program, I refused it's attempts to replace these files and everything was fine as far as installation went. The real trouble came with removal. Someone other than myself went to remove this program from the computer because they were not getting any real results from it. When the program informed them that certain files (certain DLL files that it had tried to replace previously I am betting) were no longer in use by the system, the person doing the de-installation allowed the program to remove them. Since then I have spent the last 4 hours trouble shooting the OS because those files WERE being used by the system. In fact, one had to be replaced (a DLL) before Windows would even start. So yes Mr. Williams, it is extremely easy for a program to destroy your system, especially when the person running the system takes the program's suggestions seriously and has no idea what a msvcrt.dll is. Oh wait, I take that back, there actually IS no way that a program can destroy your computer... but there are PLENTY of ways the program's author can.
