Streaming Audio Recorder

Streaming Audio Recorder offers a plethora of options for recording audio files and listening to music. You can record just about any audio from your favorite website, convert audio files into different formats, and listen to streaming radio.

Pros

Quickly capture audio: With Streaming Audio Recorder, we were able to successfully capture a snippet of music from a YouTube video. We were also able to play back the audio without any issues.

Multiple file formats: Users can choose from five different output file formats for capturing and converting files. From the Record Settings tab, we were able to toggle back and forth between output formats to capture audio in MP3, AAC, OGG, WMA, and WAV file formats.

Built-in radio: The program comes with 35 different genres to choose from for streaming radio.

Cons

Share doesn't actually share: We were pleased to see that Streaming Audio Recorder includes a Share function. But when we clicked to share our audio recording on Facebook, it merely shared a link to the publisher's website, rather than our recording.

Clunky design: While the user interface appears fairly straightforward at first glance, each option introduces a pop-up window with a dizzying array of settings options, most of which you don't actually need to get the job done.

Bottom Line

While Streaming Audio Recorder successfully captured audio in the formats we selected, we weren't fans of its poorly designed interface. For that reason, you might want to consider other audio recorders before settling on this one.
