Startup Delayer helps users avoid a slow system start by giving them control over programs that automatically load when Windows boots up.

This program provides a simple interface to work with. The screen is dominated by the list of programs your computer opens when starting Windows. Above this list is a short row of icons that allow you to add and remove programs and organize the time they are opened.

Adding a program is as simple as locating it in the file tree and then assigning it a specific time to open after Windows has begun. From there it is listed, along with the others, on the main screen. One interesting addition is spacing all program load times out evenly. This takes a lot of work from the user by simply timing every program to automatically open at staggered intervals.

Startup Delayer has isolated a problem that many computer users suffer from and provides an efficient, simple way to solve it. It's suitable for any user who wants more control over start-up programs.

While it is Very Simple, it's an excellent way to keep tabs on your Gmail Inbox. It displays the email (in small text only).
Cons
The Notification does not "Pop Up" -- so if you do not look at your system tray, you can easily miss a new email. This program has not been updated in awhile. In view of the Extreme basicness of this app, it uses a bit too much RAM. The program does Not let you select how often it checks for email--it simply Always checks every couple minutes. Also, you will notice something peculiar about this developer: Nowhere on his website--nor on his blog--will you find ANY indication of who the developer is (No name--Nothing); that is a bit odd.

I've tried a couple other Gmail Notifiers but this one worked Best. I like it because it is Simple & Non-Obtrusive -- It just sits there, And when an email arrives, your selected alarm sounds & the icon blinks.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Aug 5, 2012<p/>They posted this review on the WRONG software. ive used an older version of this program that had crash issues after startup but so far havent happened yet

it does what it says by letting the user manage your startup programs, though its mainly for delaying your startup programs and doesnt make your computer run faster which most people writing some of the reviews in here have been misinformed. this program is a godsend to those that use it correctly cause if you really want a program to run at startup and cant configure it otherwise then this program lets you do just that!

Easy to install and use. Allows user to determine sequence in which programs will start.
Cons
Does not recommend which programs should startup first, & which can be delayed/deleted. This is important because in many cases, user doesn't know what a program that came with her computer does or how important it is to the PC's proper functioning.
Summary
Does what it promises to do, but could give recommendations. Recommend that you compare this against Quick Startup, which worked just as well on my PCs.

It's supposed to list everything that starts up when you boot up, so that you can decide what you want to delay, but I don't think that lists everything. Should tell which processes take most time to boot up, to help you decide on booting sequence

those who don't have it working haven't configured it, you need to open up 'Configure Startup Delayer' and then select how long you want the startup of each program to be delayed for. Brilliant piece of software, opening 50 programs is a dream now

Pros
Delays the startup of background programs by times set by you so you can allow your PC to deal with fewer programs starting at a time. Moderately straightforward to use if you're a moderately skilled PC user (1-2 years experience).
Cons
You need to know what each startup program does and how it affects your PC, so you need Google each one to work out what programs takes priority. Needs a lot of tweaking / trial & error to increase the speed of your PC starting up (after logging in).
Summary
If you know what you're doing or moreover what the startup programs do and you don't mind fiddling, this can shave a minute or 2 off your PC's logging in time. Set this up on a laptop and a desktop both running Windows XP SP3 with no problems. Can "turn off" / prevent some programs from starting up (like Adobe Speed Launcher).
