Based on Paul Verhoeven's film adaptation of Robert Heinlein's classic sci-fi novel Starship Troopers, Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendancy makes you commander of a squad of Space Marines tasked with annihilating the insect-like inhabitants of a faraway planet. Unfortunately, the horrible interface ensures you'll spend more time struggling with the controls than squashing space bugs. Unlike in most real-time strategy games, the landscape in Terran Ascendancy doesn't scroll when you move the cursor to the edge of the screen, which makes it extremely difficult to follow your troops. You can recenter the view on your squad by pressing the space bar, or lock on them by pressing Num Lock. However, this causes as many problems as it solves, since your soldiers can shoot farther than you can see, and you often can't issue attack orders in time. The graphics and sound are impressive for the year 2000, when Terran Ascendancy came out, but the demo doesn't have many options--no multiplayer capability, no skirmish mode, just a single-player scenario. All in all, even die-hard fans of the movie will want to indulge their planet-pillaging impulses elsewhere.

I FOUND THE ACTUAL GAME FROM WWW.THEPIRATEBAY.COM AND DOWNLOADED IT WITH TORRENT BUT WHEN THE GAME LOADS ALL THE VIDEOS AND PREVIEWS PLAY... ALL THE MOVIE PARTS PLAY FINE BUT WHEN I ACTUALLY LOAD THE GAME IT JUST POPS UP WITH A PICTURE OF STARSHIP TROOPERS AND THE MUSIC IS PLAYING IN THE BACK ROUND AND IT SEEMS LIKE MY COMPUTER IS FINE AND ITS NOT SHOWING ANY ERRORS... PLEASE HELP I REALLY WANT TO PLAY THIS OLD TIME CLASSIC... THANKS

I love the game nothing really wrong with it but recently it started shading the ground white and everytime elevation occurs will completely cover the units. The graphics were note that great even set to the highest for my pc but the gameplay was awesome. I like the addition of actually having a limited supply of amunition, it adds a touch of reality to the game. Also, you don't have a thousand men to slaughter the enemy with, only the ones you start with. Kinda annoying if one trooper with a rocket launcher is getting eating alive, he/she doesnt fire back...

I have a better computer now, so I was able to install and play SST just fine. Unfortunatly, after waiting almost a year to play this, I found myself sitting there wondering why. I mean, the troop deployment is really cool, and the weapons are awesome too. But what's up with the view? The camera is not birds eye view, nor is it 3rd person. It doesn't really follow your troops, except from seemingly miles away. The Camera is really anonying, and is placed very poorly. The plot is stale and the gameplay is just simply boring. If you like fighting with the camera, trying to find your troops, and boring stale games, then this is your game. I was really dissapointed, and im mad at bluetooth for ruining the chances of having a Starship troops computer game. The series could have really been on a stracraft level.

you cant even play the game even if you have a new computer, i just got mine 2 moths ago and it still wont let me play it becous if you go into the game all of the butens are are invisible so you cant find where to clic to start the game.but if you are a skeptic and you do not believe me go ahead and download it i guss, but youl be sorry...
