• One of the best mods for SFC3 out there!

  Pros

  This mod is right there in the top, together with the Generations at War, Dominion Wars and TNG Mega Mod but since it got deleted from Filefront it kind of slowly got forgotten... <p> <p>What you get is a load of new ships for each of the major races, some reworked old ones, dozens completely new - like, for instance many TMP period ships, specially for the Federation. One that I very much liked was "Assimilated Sovereign" for the Borg - the famous Federation flagship now armed with Borg weapons and with Borg regenerative armor instead of usual shields... <p> <p>The mods rendition of various ships' shield & hull strength, type, quantity and firing arcs of weapons is excellent, very TNG like - much better then in the vanilla game. <p> <p>But the best thing for me here was that there are now large fighter/shuttle carrier cruisers available for each of the races (usually carrying 8 to 12 shuttles)and none but the biggest standard (non-carrier)ships carry shuttles... <p> <p>Why is this so good? Because, unlike in the original game, shuttles are now (very effectively) shielded which enables them to survive much longer then before. They now usually carry 2 phasers and a torp so all of this substantially increases your in-battle firepower. <p> <p>The Galaxy-X for instance - a fantastic, heavily armed and shielded Federation dreadnaught (as seen in the final TNG episode) - carries 4 shuttles and they, when deployed, effectively work as an additional heavy cruiser fighting on your side! <p> <p>I definitely give a thumbs up for this wonderful mod... try it!

  Cons

  Complete lack of any new races on the campaign map. You *do* get the Breen ships bundled together with the Romulan ones and some others (even a SW Stardestroyer defending Neutral planets), but these are not a new race! Personally, I specially miss the Cardassians... <p> <p>And of course I must mention imo one of the biggest problems that are plaguing this otherwise great game: all of the enemy ships seem to concentrate their attacks only on your ship (largely disregarding the members of your fleet) if you get closer then range 25... :(
