Animated shamrocks whirl and spin in St. Patrick's Day Screensaver. A pot of gold sits in a peat bog, with puffy white clouds above. Every once in a while, a photo of a man wearing a leprechaun hat slides along the bottom of the screen. That bit of cuteness becomes the highlight of the animation, which is otherwise uninspired. Though the graphics aren't great, at least we didn't find any adware. The only nag notice is a stationary note at the lower left, and the only setting is Mute, although the screensaver doesn't seem to have audio anyway. A clunky installation is this program's main flaw. The ZIP file you download is almost as big as the zipped executable, and the screensaver cryptically appears in your Add/Remove Programs window as SPD. There are worse ways to celebrate St. Patrick's Day on your desktop, though, especially if you don't expect too much.
