• A great multiplayer game

  Pros

  My partner and I really enjoyed playing Spiteful Bank and Spite & Malice when we were separated for a long time. We would talk to each other on Skype while playing the Spite games, and it's a great way to connect on a daily basis. Even after re-joining, we continue to play most every day. It's easier and faster than physical cards. It's also fun to send the canned comments to each other. The best feature is the Send Saved Game, which lets you continue after your internet connection is lost. Which happened to us 2 or 3 times a night.

  Cons

  Can't think of any.

  Summary

  We also play on the LAN together (using local router IP addresses), and even have a 3-player game with my Mom who is on the Internet at her home at the same time. The programming is excellent.

  Pros

  The tutorial was good. I already knew the rules of the card game but it helped me to quickly learn how to use the software and move cards around. The Undo button is cheating, but I'll admit to using it. I like being able to change the graphics of the bank structure and background separately and I like that each player can have their own saved settings.

  Cons

  None. Everything plays well.

  Summary

  I've played Russian Bank since I was a kid with family members and it was great to find the software version Spiteful Bank. I have to say that the computer opponent is surprisingly challenging.

  Pros

  There are NO problems downloading or running. I like that it takes some skill. There are no avatars which is a very good thing. The trial period is generous.

  Cons

  Instructions are not clear.You must go through your waste pile to complete the game. There is no 'back' button, just previous turn. I have the same complaint about Spite and Malice.

  Summary

  I like to play games on my desktop and download many trials. If they are enjoyable, I buy them. This one I'll buy. I love that when I purchase it I know I will get it and it will run properly. There does not seem to be anything malicious that comes along for the ride (as most downloads have).

  Pros

  I've purchased all three games produced by Mari, which include Spite & Malice, Spite Bank, and Cassino. <p> <p>As always, the tutorials are excellent, the formats are user-friendly, and the game is addicting. <p> <p>If you enjoy card games, this is a must.
