This application places a small stopwatch on your desktop, although clarity isn't its strong suit. SnapTimePro's pocket-size main dialog is crowded with control buttons you'll have to sort your way through. You won't find any skins for sprucing up the bland interface, but the time panel can be switched from LCD to LED display. Additional windows to time your speed in yards and feet and to record the cycle rate of timed intervals in seconds and minutes are accessible from the menu button. User-defined hot keys are configurable to instantly perform SnapTimePro's chief functions, such as starting, stopping, and resetting its timer. Hit the snap button or the tiny camera to record time slots that are quickly launched on a Word document with one click. The program also writes reports in TXT files, but since file specification isn't given, locating a file is a chore. If timing tasks is necessary, doing so right from your desktop is relatively easy with this free tool.
I have been using SnapTimePro for several years. I am a freelance book editor, and it's helpful for keeping track of my time on various jobs. I love that I can save the different times and reopen them later. It also allows one to input a custom time.
Cons
I wish I could specify the folder where my files are saved. It makes sharing among different computers impossible without syncing the folders. It's a huge battery sucker. I've never seen anything drain a battery so badly.
Summary
The snap feature is perfect for keeping track of projects I do in little pieces, such as monthly newsletters, that I want to bill all at once. My clients know exactly how much time I spent on each portion of their projects. Although I do wish it wouldn't kill my laptop battery. Thankfully the "set custom time" feature means I can log the time even if STP isn't keeping track of it. Overall I find the product exactly as advertised. It does precisely what I need it to do, and it does it all for free!
This one actually works!

Pros
small, fast, does what it's supposed to do!
Cons
none that i can see!
Summary
I spent an hour downloading other stopwatches trying to find one that would allow me to start, stop, and resume timing via keyboard hotkeys from other applications... you would be amazed that none of the 5 or 6 others i tested were able to do that! (some tried but failed miserably for one reason or another).
Yeah, this program rocks... (who wants to click with the mouse on the stopwatch all the time when you can just hit a keystroke and keep on your same train of thought?)
Excellent configurable stopwatch, with snapshot & reporting. Does the job!

Pros
1) The stopwatch is easy to read, with nice big buttons & digits. Includes 1/100th second readout.

2) You can start as many instances as you need - they run independently.

3) As the stopwatch is running, you can click a "snapshot" button, which outputs the elapsed time to a log. This is similar to a lap timer, with the additional feature of logging the output. You can add comments to each time snapshot, and save the log to a Word report or text file.

4) The control panel can be separated from the stopwatch panel, so they can be managed separately, or together, as needed.
Cons
1) There isn't any documentation, so several features remain mysterious. I don't seem to need them, but it would be nice to know what they do.

2) You can't attach the report panel to the control panel - it has to be dragged separately
