Editors’ Review
Smaart Suite is a specialized audio measurement software built for professional sound system analysis. It integrates three distinct modes, the Real-Time, Impulse Response, and SPL, into a unified interface for data capture, visualization, and analysis. Unlike lighter versions or third-party alternatives, this flagship edition includes every core measurement feature without restriction.
Smaart Suite's structure supports detailed configuration, with separate registers and controls for each mode, while still operating within a consistent framework. Whether the goal is alignment, diagnostics, or compliance logging, the tool offers a dedicated platform purpose-built for precise sound measurement workflows used in field and studio environments.
Mode-driven measurement structure
Smaart Suite Real-Time Mode Tools provides both Spectrum (single-channel) and Transfer Function (dual-channel) measurement tools, which are fundamental in system alignment and diagnostics. Engineers can analyze frequency response, phase, and coherence in real time. However, it lacks multimedia editing or media playback functionality. The mode is designed for workflows where fast system feedback is critical, offering FFT-based processing, configurable averaging, and multi-input support across different measurement signals.
Impulse Response (IR) Mode is built to display how sound behaves over time. It includes linear, logarithmic, and ETC views, along with histograms and spectrographs for time-domain plotting. Frequency response graphs can also be generated from IR data. Additional tools allow the calculation of RT60, STI, STIPA, CIS, and related acoustical values. It supports detailed examination of reflections and decay in enclosed environments, helping refine architectural and system-related acoustic performance.
SPL Mode centers on logging, displaying, and alerting for real-world sound levels. You can customize metering behavior, set event-based alarms, and tag measurements with notes. Long-term history plots are recorded for review, with configurable traffic light-style indicators to mark SPL thresholds. Combined with Class 1 or Class 2 compliance, it supports operational monitoring and documentation workflows. Reporting features cover data export, timestamping, and automated logging during live sessions.
Pros
- Includes Real-Time, IR, and SPL modes
- Detailed time- and frequency-domain analysis tools
- Customizable logging and reporting in SPL Mode
- Structured interface with independent registers
Cons
- Lacks audio editing or playback functionality
Bottom Line
All-in-one measurement suite
Smaart Suite combines three measurement disciplines into a single interface, each with its toolset, visualization area, and configuration panel. Real-Time Mode supports frequency-domain analysis, Impulse Response Mode captures time-domain behavior, and SPL Mode enables detailed sound pressure tracking. It does not aim to simplify or abstract these tasks but rather keeps each mode distinct, data-driven, and laid out. It does not bundle in mixing, DSP control, or signal generation.
