Editors’ Review
For a no-frills Web browser, this free version may fit the bill, but you won't be able to alter its home page until you register.
Slick Internet Browser offers just the essentials: a field for entering a URL, and five standard buttons: Go (to launch the URL you enter); Stop; Forward; Back; and Options. The last of these buttons allows you to register, view or purge your browsing history, and set bookmarks. The search feature lacks any appeal at all; in our tests, it never produced satisfactory results. The browser's home page, which you can't change unless you register, is cluttered with a variety of banners and ads, both graphic and text. The browser minimizes to the system tray instead of the taskbar, which may confuse novices.
Even with its quirks, users who want a fast, bare-bones browser may find this one just right, but other users who rely on a variety of toolbar features may want to pass up Slick Internet Browser.
