Shop Management Solution is a Free open source software. Available under GPL version 2 License for small and medium retailer stores. For those who wish to maintain there store inventory in an effective way. Although they can't afford to buy expensive software with bar code readers and high maintenance fee.

It provides you the ability to manage different item types with price. It then allows you to add purchases against those item types. It provides full vendor and contractor management.
