Most people have some data that they would rather not share with others - passwords, personal information.Perhaps you have saved some of this information on your computer where it is conveniently at your reach, but when the time comes to remove the data from your hard disk, things get a bit more complicated and maintaining your privacy is not as simple.Your first thought may be that when you 'delete' the file, the data is gone. Not quite, when you delete a file, the operating system does not really remove the file from the disk; it only removes the reference of the file from the file system table. The file remains on the disk until another file is created over it.Before the file is overwritten, anyone can easily retrieve it with a disk maintenance or an undelete utility.

Total waste of time and possible malware / virus.

Pros
None. When I tried to use the 'free' software a pop-up requiring a license key appeared. When I clicked on the 'register' button the same pop-up reappeared.
Cons
When I deleted it from my system it left behind (at least) one folder. When I tried to delete that it would not let me, saying files were in use. When I checked task manager I discovered that the 'deleted' program was enabled in startup and running a process. Disabled startup and ended the process, rebooted, then tried again. Same thing, even though it was not showing disabled in startup and was not running a process. ALERT! UPDATE! Checked my e-mail and had a message from someone I would not normally expect to e-mail me with a link. When I clicked on the link my anti-virus program warned me the site exhibited dangerous characteristics and might try to steal my data. POSSIBLE VIRUS/MALWARE!!! BEWARE!!!

It's free.
Cons
Triggered multiple warnings from my Comodo antivirus. Installed a pesky search add-on to my browsers and set it as the default search provider. Changed my browser homepages. All of this it did quickly and successfully. But it failed to actually wipe the hard drives I wanted to get rid of, producing instead a series of "missing dll" errors.

Great for Folders and Files

Pros
Nice selection of methods available. Also, not all utilities similar to this allow for the addition of directories and subfolders, so that is a nice plus.
Cons
Doesn't have an option to wipe all of the free hard drive space, instead of just folders and files. Most of the security utility packages I have do the same thing - I wanted something like "No File Recovery" to wipe the entire free space on the drive at once. I would've given 5 stars, but for that 1 missing option.
Summary
Flexible and easy to use, it's a great tool to remove files and folders. Its only drawback is the lack of an option to wipe all free space off of the drive at once. If you don't need that feature, then this is a great, efficient little tool to add to your utilities.
