Search Duplicate Files is a utility designed to search for duplicate files within a selected directory. The user can search for particular file extension like MP3 or JPG with the file filters. There are three different searches that vary in search method. The first one only compares the file names of all the files within the directory, the second compares the file name and file size of all the files within the directory and the last one compares the file contents to find duplicate copies.

Features include open, open file, rename file, delete file, save list, filters, three different searches engines, and export results to CSV file.

There has to be other programs way better than this. I agree with one of the reviewers... It's just too tedious to go by the files one by one... could have been way better.

Pros
It's successful at finding duplicate files fast. It found my 78 duplicate image files out of 1048 in 1 second, using content checking. You get a list of the files.
Cons
There isn't any option to select just one of the duplicate files, and delete the others; you have to do it manually, by checking their sizes. Moreover, you can't sort the files by sizes. It's some kind of torture to delete the unnecessary ones manually.

I opened my music folder, my cpu ran hot, I waited for some time but I got no status information and had no idea how long I would have to wait. Maybe I'll try again later and correct my rating but first impression is bad.
