'Scan a Word - OCR" allows you to take a photo of a word from a book or magazine and convert it to a word you can copy and paste.
'Scan a Word - OCR" allows you to take a photo of a word from a book or magazine and convert it to a word you can copy and paste. Why should you want this? When learning foreign languages you might read words in a book you want to translate. There are many apps for translating, but you have still have to type the word. Typing can be tedious especially if it involves switching the on-screen keyboard to another language. So let's automate it. "Scan a Word - OCR" fills the gap by recognizing words in photos, allowing you to copy these words to other apps, for example for translation. Features: take a photo of a word. use one of two OCR engines to do character recognition. offline OCR for 21 languages (using Microsoft OCR library). online OCR for more languages (using Google Drive OCR) Notes: When Google Drive is used as an OCR (optical character recognition) service you will be asked once to log in to your Google account. The app uploads an image, Drive does the processing and the app deletes the image afterwards. The app size is pretty high due to the offline OCR capability for multiple languages.
