Salinha is a communications application designed for creating private virtual hangouts, enabling users to share voice and video in a synchronized environment. It features high-fidelity screen sharing, remote PC game access, and synchronized YouTube playback, catering specifically to small friend groups, gamers, and communities. The app allows for device-to-device streaming without the interference of central servers or advertisements, ensuring a seamless experience for users who wish to socialize and engage in shared media activities.
The application organizes interactions within a persistent virtual room, where users can join via voice or video on a shared interface. It includes various features such as per-user volume controls, a shared media queue for synchronized playback, and dedicated text and voice channels for distinct conversations. Salinha's focus on privacy is supported by its use of WebRTC technology, which facilitates direct connections between devices while storing chat history locally, thereby minimizing server-side data retention.
