Do you have sensitive files you would like to password-protect but don't know how? With Safeplicity, you can password-protect AND encrypt all your confidential files in just a few clicks, without any IT skills whatsoever.

To protect a folder, you simply right-click on it, choose "Protect with Password" and choose a password. That's it. From now on, whenever you try to open your folder (as usual - through Windows Explorer), you will be asked for a password. Your folders are protected immediately, without any delay, whilst background encryption kicks in, in the background.

If you have data you would like to make completely disappear, you can use the "Protect and Hide" option. With this feature, your folder will not only become password protected, but completely invisible, so no one even knows it is there!

Pros
It's really, really easy to use this app to password protect folders. You just right click on the folder you want to protect, and choose a password. I have protected lots of folders, and it's working great. I like that there are password reminders, so I don't need to be paranoid about forgetting my password!
Cons
The software only works from Windows 7, so if you have an old XP computer, you can't use it.
Summary
I have tried a lot of encryption apps, but this one is by far the best. I really like that all folders stay in place and I can use my folders the same way I always do - only that I now need to enter a password to open them.
Troublesome, beware!

Pros
This is a welcome feature and convenient for protecting folders from unwanted intrusions.
Cons
1. All files took longer to open. System resources diminished. Everything, including internet access impacted. After uninstalling system resources resumed to normal speed. 2. Lose customized main folder icon (not sub-folders). I sent email inquiry to Safeplicity about this but never got a response. They are either understaffed or ignore 30-day trial prospective clients.
Summary
I wasn't sure if there was something wrong with my 6 mth old Dell XPS15 due to its sluggish response. So, I unistalled to see if it was this program impacting the speed; it was. I was very disappointed because the concept and ease of use was long desired. Now, let me tell you why you should beware. They don't tell you if you uninstall their program that any folders you protected will be deleted as well. If I had not had backup, I would have been devastated. Obviously, you are protecting important files which is why you downloaded it, right? If you plan to uninstall, make sure you unprotect those folders; otherwise, they will be drag down to oblivion by association, If it didn't tax system resources, I would use this program. Protection at the expense of speed is a big issue. If they could resolve consuming system resources, I would reinstall program.

Pros
It's amazingly easy and convenient. It's so convenient that I password-protected, literally, a half of my files and hid the most confidential ones. I especially love their password reminder, because I use tons of different passwords for my stuff. But, of course, I don't enable the password reminder for my most sensitive stuff. My Mom often borrows my laptop and this app is so easy that even she learned how to keep her files password protected from me and, oh my gosh, seems to hide some of her files from me! It's OK, Mom. I'm fine with your secrets being encrypted from me :)
Cons
This software works only on Windows. Adding a version for Mac would be great.
Summary
Both my Mom and I love Safeplicity and highly recommend trying it.
