RS232 Logger is addon for Advanced Serial Data Logger software. RS232 Logger AX is extremely useful utility in every automation engineer's toolbox. Monitoring serial port devices sometimes requires much more efforts than one could imagine. Controlling the data exchange process between the device and the computer, logging and structuring serial data into a database--that's the brief common task list of any automation engineer. And ironically, these tasks aren't easily automated by themselves. Doesn't that sound strange: an automation engineer doing everything by hand, not being able to lighten his job a bit?RS232 Logger AX monitors any number of serial ports (including RS232, RS422 and RS485 via a hardware adapter), captures data from any devices connected to these ports and logs the information into a customized log file. The program offers far more than just naked serial port logging; it features painless exporting functions as well. This allows you to build a full-featured real-time data gathering system, requesting dozens of RS232 devices and storing information into an ODBC database, such as Oracle or Access, or put the info directly to a target application via DDE and OLE support. Even if the destination is a DOS-application--RS232 Logger AX still can transfer the serial port data to it by sending key strokes.
