Robot Unicorn Attack 2 for iOS

Robot Unicorn Attack 2 is as colorful, action-packed, and explosive as you would imagine based on the name alone; and while there are some issues in set up and load times, the game generally delivers on its promise in spades. Designed as a side scrolling endless runner and sequel to the popular Adult Swim game from a few years ago, Robot Unicorn Attack 2 combines ridiculous level design (in a good way) with decent mechanics that are deep enough to be rewarding and responsive enough to be quite a bit of fun.

The concept of this game is very straightforward. You are a robot unicorn running at full speed across various environments, picking up fairies, stars, and other goodies. The game lasts as long as you can keep from hitting a wall, and with a few flourishes like double-jumps, mid-air boosts, and speed runs, there is a good amount of variety added to the typical endless runner formula. This all works quite well and is very fun, but there are some issues with initial setup and load times when downloading new levels that can make startup frustratingly long.

Once the game loads and you start running, however, the sheer silliness takes over and you can't help but crack a smile. We had more fun playing Robot Unicorn Attack 2 than we have had with many other games in this genre for some time. Yes, it's over the top and yes the game could use a few more modes, but this is pure unadulterated fun. Fix the load time issues and this would be an exceptional iOS game.
