• You'll have better luck labeling the songs yourself

  -Often mislabels songs -Can't get a single song right unless you spoonfeed it most of the information already

  Summary

  I wanted to test this out so I messed the labeling up on an album I had from Frank Ocean. When I tried "rinsing" it, they kept giving me No Church in the Wild. So I decided to try it on No Church in the Wild and it didn't even get it right. No use in paying $40 for something that can't get any song right.

• Program Errors & Horrible Customer Service

  Pros

  - The interface looks nice. - Able to do a whopping 10 songs at a time before it crashes... nice feature.

  Cons

  - Crashes when trying to connect to iTunes: "iTunes Is Not Responding" error. - Stability problems with Adobe Air (which it uses to work). - HORRIBLE customer service, they will send you non-personal e-mail responses that are clearly copy-paste responses they used on other customers. After nearly 2 months, they will simply stop responding, their hope is your frustration will just make you go away and forget the money. - Did I mention HORRIBLE customer service??

  Summary

  Rinse is a waste of money... do your homework, many-many people experiencing errors with it. I wish I had researched more before I'm taking the time to post this because Rise "RealNetworks" customer service and technical support told me they don't care that Rinse is failing to work (massive errors) and they stopped responding to me. - Error 1: Rinse will run up to about 10 songs before it crashes and says "iTunes Is Not Responding" (Google it, widespread issue with Rinse). - Error 2: Rinse will hang on song 2 or 3 for no reason (the only program on my computer that does this. I have tested Rinse on 2 computers with the same results. Rinse "RealNetworks" technical support quite literally copies & pastes e-mail responses to you that were responses they used to send to other people before... I've received two responses now where they put my name at the start of the e-mail but in the first paragraph, they call me a different name (my name is Dave, not Nick or Susan). I've been in e-mail communication with the tech support for nearly 2 months, and now they are not responding -- the just wanted me to go away. I am not advocating for any other iTunes clean-up tool... I haven't tried another yet, but I will tell you that I have two computers and both have errors with Rinse. I'm running an i7 PC with Windows 7 and a 27" iMac (mid 2011) with a 3.4GHz i7 processor and 16 GB of Ram... not a computer issue, it's a software issue and customer service will wait you out. If you get it - best of luck. Dave

• HORRIBLE! MIS-LABELS SONGS! DO NOT BUY/USE

  Absolutely nothing.

  Cons

  The program took previously correct songs and changed the information (including titles). For example, when "fixing" the library, it took Ben Harper's "Burn one down" and changed it to "Burn to Shine." It did this with 95% certainty that it was correct! Messing up a library's information is inexcusable at any price. Also, the duplicate song finder removes any two songs with the same name and ignores the fact that the two might be different versions, on different albums, or by different artists (e.g., live versions). On top of everything, their customer service is awful. I sent the above information to them and they replied back "we're sorry the album artwork isn't working, please check that your settings are correct and try again."

  Summary

  DO NOT BUY OR USE THIS PRODUCT. IT WILL RUIN YOUR MUSIC LIBRARY'S INFORMATION!!!

• Use this if you want to get rid of your music files

  It does seem to clean dup's for a while

  Cons

  Just when you trust it to clean a large library it deletes 80% of your files - I juste wiped out 180 gig of music from a 200 gig lib as easily and quickly as I've ever done - wonderful if you want to get rid of your music. If only Itunes would create a decent product we wouldn't have to deal with crappy third party stuff.

  Summary

  I've had this product for years and have known about it's limitations for as long - I thought being diligent about redundant backups would enable me to take advantage of its ability to get rid of dups - nah - this product is very thin ice my friends.

• Slow and painfull death for your music files

  Pros

  More people than you look stupid for trying this garbageware. You DO get to spend lots of quality time with your computer fixing the frozen app every 80 songs or so, rebooting, fixing corrupted files after system crashes etc.

  Cons

  Spyware laden bug riddled crapware... all at a premium price!

  Summary

  Only nuke and pave will remove from your systems and you'll be left with scrambled tags for your effort. The best part about my full system backup BEFORE installing this tagshredder was not the full restore of my untouched library but the full removal of any trace of this brutal app.

  There are no pros... to hell with this garbage

  Cons

  I tried to uninstall and couldn't uninstall it. The toolbar wouldn't leave itunes. I had to complete uninstall of itunes and clean up all registry traces to finally get rid of it.

  Summary

  Piece of crap. Burn in hell. If i could give it zero rating i would. It's from realnetworks... why the hell was i surprised.

  - easy to install (Windows 7) - great interface - integrated with iTunes - allows for a user designated archive folder - crawls your music library with or without user intervention - removes duplicates based on user preferences

  - the cost is somewhat high

• Google Search results "ballot stuffing" look suspicious

  Summary

  I initially considered downloading this, based on Google search results where I saw a large number of websites with positive reviews of the product. Digging a little further, all these referrer sites seem to consist of just a few pages each, and all have great reviews of the product, complete with screen shots, download links, sidebar ads for Rinse...suddenly it begins to look like a product with no substance, marketed in a very amateurish way. Shame on Real Audio, if they even have a conscience any more.

  trialware? hmmm, I trust cnet with all my computers - I thought at least someone at cnet looked at what was being uploaded to the sight. This product allows the user to do what Itunes already does but has a clean warm fuzzy look.

  Cons

  Doesn't deserve one star! This software is redundant, possibly and hopefully not so inoccuos - errr, but why all the tracking cookies?

  Summary

  Trial Ware? PLEASE!! This product allows the user to do what ITunes already does, so why should I use it? The pros, it downloads fine, it's software, it uses code, has a very cool icon, looks like it would be a great to ITunes users. It only delivers a cool icon unless you pay $40 bucks to try it. This software is redundant. Comes with lots of tracking cookies that AVG Spyware screams about while in use and during installation, one huge waste of hardware space, trial ware doesn't allow you to try it, costs $40 bucks, redundant, looks cool but please don't waste your time. I'm no expert here, but I feel this is a Real Player program to track what users are playing on ITunes! This is spyware packaged as a utility! Shameless scam by Real Player. Nice Icon - That's it! Oh, the nice icon will cost you $40 bucks, complete waste of time, resources and who got paid to code this? Hmmmmmm! It's one thing for a company to go to war against another, but to track individuals computers and listening habits is the worst form of consumer abuse. Come on real player, get a grip! Do your own homework! I'm all for competition, but not this way! Please, don't try to fool me, thank you Real!

  Castrated trial version $39.99 for the full program and you can't even preview it???

  Summary

  What a colossal waste of time. Why even bother uploading software to this site if it's going to be so limited that you can't even try it to see if you'd be willing to pay $40 for the software. Sure, it'll find dupes, add artwork, etc. Fantastic, so does iTunes and it's a free download. Actually removing all the dupes from my library? That MIGHT be worth a few bucks to me, but $40 and I can't even try it first??? Sorry, for that kind of money I'll go ahead and do it myself, the long way.
