Pros
Dunno why anyone would want to let people they don't know steal their stuff. This is probably a site put up by record company executives.
Cons
Feels like people trying to steal other people's riffs. Probably put up by record company executives.

Pros
I have been using RiffWorks Standard for 2 years and its hands down the best thing out there for recording guitar, vocals, and other instruments for Songwriting.
The Instant Drummers are amazing. For us non-drummers we can just pick a beat and Jam even change the drummers after we record our guitar and bass with the greatest of ease. People are amazed with the production quality that I get out of my recordings.
The online collabs are great. Being able to get people from around the world to lay down tracks on your song ideas is awesome. Also writing songs with people that are not geographically close to you is really cool. I live in the US and have written and recorded songs with people in Germany, China, UK, Sweden, and Parts Unknown.
RiffWorks is very versatile. You can record any instrument or vocals with it as long as you have the interface to get it in the computer. The Line 6 TonePort UX2 works really well for about everything. (Microphones or plugging guitars or other instruments directly into it)
RiffWorks really shines for songwriting. You are able to record your parts in sections. (verse, chorus, bridge, ect?) Then you are able to try different arrangement very easily by moving them around in the song bar. Also with the ease of the instant drummer you don?t spend all your time messing around with programming drum beats. Just pick an Instant Drummer and click record. When you get something that you like you can mix it down to a Wav or an Ogg file and share it with whomever or post it to the free RiffCaster service for everyone to listen.
Do yourself a favor and check it out. You will want the full version before long; it?s a steal for the price they are selling it at.
Cons
There are some limitations, such as post processing with VSTi's, and copying layers from one Riff to another.

Pros
Ever wanted to expand your jamming friends or your social circle? How about shooting a lesson to a student across town or exchanging song ideas with soneone across country or the ocean? Riffworks T4 will let you do just that and more.
Cons
Limited version of standard and Line 6 products.

Still in development, occasional bugs and sometimes stability issues arise, though, I must say, Sonoma has come a long way year after year in improving this product. Did I mention it was free to try and use?

The only real drawback is T4 only has the one demo drummer and no rex or rewire capacity like the full version. A creator membership costs 10.00/mo or 60.00/yr. At this time,(8/15/08) I believe it is still free for both. See sonoma website for comparison to full product.
