There will be times when you want to resize and crop a batch of photos, such as after a vacation. Manually doing it yourself is both tedious and time-consuming, but Resize Sense for Mac provides an easy fix. With some simple settings you can set up this app to automatically go through each and every photo and perform a resize and crop.

The app is free to try, but it saves each image with a watermark. Once you purchase and register the product for $13.99, you will have full access to all features and there will be no watermark. The interface of Resize Sense for Mac is quite straightforward and well designed, and you have the ability to adjust the layout to your liking. Resize comes with some default resizing presets, but you can easily add your own. You are also able to control how and where each image is cropped using the Resize editor. The entire process of adding photos, preparing your settings and processing the images takes only a few minutes, depending on how many images you want to resize. There are also other features such as rotate and flip for more image editing options.

Sporting a multitude of options and features, Resize Sense for Mac offers a great solution for users looking to quickly resize and edit batches of photos. It is a lightweight app that functions well.

What's new in version 2.0.0

We are excited to announce the new Resize Sense generation! It was not easy, but we decided to make this upgrade free to thank the users who supported us in the beginning. We hope that you appreciate our efforts and help us further develop Resize Sense by recommending it to your friends and making a Mac App Store review, if you purchased there.

Resize Sense 2 introduces a redesigned resizing and cropping engine which offers even more flexibility than before, can perform more tasks in a single batch operation. It also adds a number of features often requested by users, and presents a significantly improved user interface. In more detail:

  • A new highly requested feature: resizing to achieve the required maximum output file size on disk (in bytes).
  • Any cropping task can now be performed together with resizing, in a single step. Crop aspect ratio can be defined separately with all resizing types except the first two, that naturally restrict it. The cropped part plays the role of the original image when resizing.
  • There is no limitation on how small the cropped part can go, unless you choose not to save images that are too small for the requested size. If the cropped part is smaller than the requested size, it will behave just as a small original image.
  • Preview now shows either the final image or the original with crop rectangle, as you prefer.
  • When saving, it is now possible to replicate the original directory structure, starting from a defined location.
  • Use image IPTC/EXIF metadata in the saved file names.
  • Rename files within the application.
  • Bulk-edit the image resolution specification in the Info panel.
  • Significantly redesigned user interface, with a focus on convenience and clarity.
  • PDF User Guide delivered with the application.
  • Other minor improvements.
  • Bug fixes, mostly for OS X Lion.
