• Pricing quoted here is WRONG - not worth the higher price

  At the small office that I manage we were looking for something that would inventory all the computers on the network. Don't really need the full-blown bloated titles like Lan Desk, so I thought I would look around on Download.com. Sure enough, I found a software title that I thought would fit the bill - Remote Scope. <p>Installed it and it seems to work fine and do what's advertised. <p>So, I proceeded to recommend this software based on the price that is shown on Download.com --- $25. <p>That's right, I was led to believe that we could remotely monitor and manage our 50+ node network for only $25... what a deal. I was sold. And proceeded to sell my bosses on the product.<p>Then, when it came time to buy... go to the company website and found that "volume pricing" is $14.95 PER NODE.... What a surprise!<p>Now, I'm not sure what we will do. I have egg on my face and wasted a lot of time proving that Remote Scope would work.<p>I called Remote Scope people and they had the typical "oh yes, we saw that price showing on the Download.com site... but we're not sure how to change it".... type of excuse.<p>With that attitude, I decided NOT TO TRUST THEIR SOFTWARE on my network...... <p>A bit of free advice to the company ADVERTISE WHAT YOU SELL, SELL WHAT YOU ADVERTISE! Otherwise, people will come away with a NEGATIVE impression of your company and will go to the lengths of writing nasty reviews of your software... even though it might not deserve them...........
