This is a standard, run-of-the-mill sound recorder that unfortunately has more limitations than it does features. While it automatically sets recording levels, that's about the only intelligence it shows during the recording process. The interface is slick but somehow incomplete, mixing 3D texture with clunky gray buttons. There's no way to schedule a recording time, so it's of no use for recording Internet radio programs. It also can't restart automatically, which makes it useless for recording a conversation. What's more, it has no capability to convert sound files to the ubiquitous MP3 format. Overall, you're going to find about the same functionality that comes free with a system, as in the Windows Sound Recorder.

Works great on XP, NOT on VISTA!

Pros
Records whatever is playing on your computer... That means it records: youtube, dvd's, streaming audio, radio stations, etc...
Cons
DOESN'T WORK ON VISTA!!!! I've contacted the company and was told they are not planning a VIsta version right now... that sucks. It really is a useful program that will have to wait to be installed on my kickin vista system.

I have Vista and this program didn't run on it, so I changed the settings under properties to XP and still didn't work; lastly I changed the settings to 2000 and it still won't work. I guess it doesn't work.

It supports WAV output format only in Version 1.0, but you can trim the silence at the ends after recording.
