There's no point in firing up a huge image-editing suite when you just need to perform a simple task like resizing or cropping an image. That's why there are programs like Quick JPEG Resize and Crop. It does exactly what the name suggests and nothing more, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. If you find yourself frequently needing to perform these tasks, this program is one of the most efficient ways to get them done.

Quick JPEG Resize and Crop has a simple interface that's quite easy to figure out. Users can navigate to the desired image from within the program's file menu, or simply drag and drop the image onto the program's interface. The image can be cropped either by dragging a box over the desired area or by adjusting the cropped area numerically. To resize images, users can enter the desired size dimensions and also adjust the quality of the image, making it possible to reduce the size of the file without reducing the actual size of the image. Buttons allow users to save the new image by overwriting the original, adding _rsz to the original file name, or saving the file with a new name or to a new location. The program comes with a surprisingly detailed Help file that explains each of its features. We do wish that Quick JPEG Resize and Crop were capable of rotating images, a basic task that often seems to go along with cropping and resizing. But if you need a utility to quickly resize and crop images and do nothing else, this program is about as easy as it gets.

Quick JPEG Resize and Crop comes as a ZIP file. It installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.

- Quick to Download and Install - Quick to Launch/Open - Easy Drag and Drop Feature (one of the ONLY easy image croppers that has this) - Awesome Quick Saving Options - Easy Interface, no Learning Curve - Just a few Clicks and you're Done!
Cons
- You can only Crop in one Direction (Starting from top left corner - Took me a while to figure that out) - There should be a Keyboard Short-cut for "Undo Crop" - Sometimes I forget to press "Crop" after I highlighted the area, before saving, then the image is Auto-Closed. It would be nice to have an "Auto-Crop" option in settings, or maybe, don't Auto-Close the image after saving - The Help Screen shows that there are Rotation Options, however, they don't appear in the actual program
Summary
I've spent all day looking for the Perfect Quick Image Cropping tool, and this one is by FAR the best! Many other programs are rated higher, but this program beats them ALL. It's so quick and easy to use! Mostly all of the other programs have crappy Explorer/Navigation menus to open the image. Drag and Drop is SO important in making things much easier for the user. The Saving options are just WONDERFUL! I wasn't even expecting those Quick-Save options. None of the other programs had this. I think just 2-3 things could be improved with this program, that would make it even more perfect. However, I believe this Software deserves a 5-Star Rating, especially because of unfair Negative reviews it already received. Thank you for this!! -Andrew

Small filesize Easy installation Even my mother could use this. Runs on computers that won't run MS Photo Editor properly.
Cons
Couldn't get the resize to work- changing something to custom dimensions was supposed to be do-able, but option was always unavailable; Likewise were percentage-based shrink or expand; Help files not helpful or non-existent; Cropping only works starting from top left corner; No rotate feature, but Windows can do that natively from the right-click dialog (at least with JPGs).
Summary
Nothing malicious found during or after install. I like that it's simple to use, but half the functions are unavailable, and no clue as to how or why. But this does the partial job that I needed it to since I can't get Microsoft Photo Editor to run on my user's limited account on XP.
Don't download or risk tons of bloatware

The tool actually worked ok but I have uninstalled it.
Cons
It automatically downloaded without asking me tons of bloatware. Most of it was crap that changed by browser settings to some visual bee search engine. There was also some coupon thing that installed itself.

Don't risk it. Who knows what else was downloaded. That is the behavior of malware

I sell online, and I like my photos to be centered and take up the whole frame so my customers can really get a good look at them. I don't have the patience to learn an entire photo-editing program when 95% of what I want to do is crop and resize. When the online venue on which I sell changed it's easy-to-use editing tool, I needed a quick (and ideally free) solution. I was so thrilled with this little program that I forwarded the link to several friends. Thank you CNET!

fast download and installation, you can drag and drop from explorer! It worked straight out of the box and reduced the file size without quality drop.
Cons
none yet, the only prob is jumping through hoops to leave this review but it is worth it for the prog.

This program is very literally a quick tool to resize and crop JPGs, nothing else. It is a very small program that loads very quickly. It is perfect for creating and sizing wallpapers, email attachments, and web pictures. It only handles JPGs and only handles one picture at a time. It does not stretch or skew. If you need a different height/width ratio, you must crop to that specific ratio and then resize it. If you only need to crop and resize one JPG, then this program is perfect. It loads very quickly and does nothing else
