  Very quick and simple Saving you from a lot of annoyance with inadvertently copied formatting Can be customised, so you can use the hot key combination you like best

  Cons

  You're gonna miss it when borrowing someone else's computer (unless you convince them they should get this little gem too).

  Summary

  I've been using this little programme 'forever', and I love it! How annoyed can you get when all kinds of formatting (including huge fonts from websites, hidden codes inside Word, and complete Excel cells) are being copied along when it's only the text you need? Well, with PureText, this annoyance will be gone forever!

  Pros

  Every day, I paste text and want the formatting stripped out. I set PureText to "Windows key + V" and it's my go-to way to paste.

  Cons

  Can't think one.

  Summary

  I don't know how a tiny 82KB program that doesn't actually install could install unwanted browser plugins. It has never done that for me! Did the reviewers review the wrong program?

• Perfectly Simple

  Pros

  This application does one thing and does it very well: convert formatted text to plain text with a single keystroke, anywhere you are working. The global hotkey WinKey+V is the way to use this power tool.

  Cons

  Doesn't have hundreds of options and unnecessary features. Hey, the only "con" is actually a "pro"!

  Pasting the selection changes the actual contents of the clipboard.

  I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like there's a second or two delay in the new version that didn't used to occur. I'm using it on a new system, though, so it could be that.

  Highly recommended. No bloat, no UI flash, no BS. Just does what it's supposed to do, and does it well.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Feb 7, 2013<p/>I don't know what the CNET downloader program does, but if you download from the direct link, all you get is a nice little ZIP file with the EXE in it. There is no installer, so I'm not sure what the other users could be talking about aside from the CNET program itself. My recommendation: always use the direct download link.

  Pros

  The Puretext itself is very helpful software. It becomes very easy to copy text from any source and then paste it as unformatted into any other document or chat window.

  Cons

  Very difficult to remove crapware comes with this installer. It will hijack your preferred search engine, add an unwanted toolbar, and hijack your homepage unless you VERY CAREFULLY uncheck all of the pre-checked options in the agreement.

  Summary

  Very good program that consorts with very bad company in the installer.

  This product works great, but see cons below.

  Cons

  This is installing infoatoms as a browser plugin that is malware and difficult to remove. Do not recommend in the short term.

  Summary

  It is not worth the hassle to download this and have the infoatoms malware. I did not realize this until it was too late and had to go through a frustrating process to remove. Overall, with the infoatoms, I would not recommend.

  I use this at work more than at home, but this very nicely solves the problem of pasting formatted text without the formatting without the extra effort that paste special always required.

  None that I can think of.

  Pros

  Sucessfully removes all formatting, allowing me to resize or reformat at will.

  Cons

  Would be nice if it would leave images intact in copied material, but that would probably be counter to its purpose.
